Shadowhunters do not celebrate Thanksgiving, or really any mundane holidays, though the traditions of giving gifts at Valentine’s Day and the end of the year have seeped into their customs.
Both Clary and Simon, however, grew up with Thanksgiving and miss celebrating it. They have taken to throwing a Thanksgiving party every November hosted by the two of them, during which they have introduced Jace, Izzy, Alec, and their other friends and family to such delicacies as green bean casserole and sweet potatoes with marshmallows melted on top.
